Hair extensions.. please help!?

I bought hair extensions yesterday at Sallys, and the girl there told me it would be cheaper if I but the extensions and the clips separate and then sewed the clips on, so that's what I did (as opposed to getting the hair that already has the clips on it). It took me forever and was NOT that easy, but I cut the hair (into sections) and then sewed two clips on one of the pieces.

My problem is.. #1 they don't really seem to stay in that well.. and #2, how do I put more than one "layer" on and have them stay? Like if I cut the hair into sections and sew clips on each section, it's not going to work for me to just clip layer upon layer upon layer.. it won't stay.

PLEASE HELP!

Hair extensions.. please help!?

Yeah these things are tricky, the hair clips themselves are small which does not help at all. If your looking for a layered look, you want the hair towards the top of your head shorter the toward the nape and neckline area.. if your hair is already layered, you want to cut the the same or shorter than the shortest layer you have, then work your way down.. if your pulling your hair up and you want them really tight, there's no reason you cant secure them with bobby pins in an x shape. they wont budge. The reason the are small is most of the time people only get them for a few here or there for affect. You could always hot glue the to the hair clip to, just dont use alot, try to keep the seam small in between..

Hair extensions.. please help!?

Well, i'm obviously not an expert, because i've never had them. But personally, I really suggest that you go back to the hair salon, or where you purchased them, and ask them about this. Because it's your hair , and it's precious. See, if they can clip them in for you, or fix them.

I've been considering clips-in's really seriously.

I just had some questions about the cost and such.

my e-mail is shell_15@hotmail.com

I just need to talk to someone about this, before I make the decision to get them, if you could get back to me that would be great. Sorry, I can't be much of a help, but I wish you the best of luck ! :)

Hair extensions?!?

Okay so whithin this year i cut almost 10 inches of my hair off. First i got 5 inches of and it was past my shoulders with layers it was cute. then i didnt want layers anymore so my hair dresser cut it! i didn't think it would be so short! It was 2 inches past my ears! I figured it would all grow back in the summer. wrong its only grown 1 inch! So i want to get extensions heres the thing. I have natural really curl hair and i straighten it alot. So i was thinking before i got it chooped of that i would get it pro straightend cause it would take me 2 hours!

so should i....

1) get hair pro straight and get straight extentions ?

or...

2) get curly extensions, but can i straighten them?

please help. school almost here and ima be a freshman

thnxs!!!!

Hair extensions?!?

well if u have curly hair you should get curly extensions. i got extensions and the girl that did them for me told me to get the kind that you have. even though u would straighten then every day say its humid and ur hair starts to get curly then ur extensions are still straight. or if u go swimming and u get out of the pool and some of ur hair is curly and some of it is straight how retarded will that look? and i know someone that had their hair pro straightened and it looks funny cuz it starts growing out and then ur roots r curly but the rest of the hair isnt. and its rly expensive.

Hair extensions?!?

most extensions cannot be straightened, they will often sizzle and fall out.

I would get curly extensions.

or just let it as it is.

It's only hair.

Hair extensions?!?

STRAIGHT HAIR EXTENSIONS BECAUSE THEY LOOK NICER.%26amp;YOU CAN CURL IT WHENEVER YOU WANT!=]

Hair extensions?!?

I just recently got extensions, I love mine, see my hair is wavey so i got wet n wavy hair to put in and I straighten it i curl it, so no do not get you hair pro straightend, jusy get the extensions and style like normal!!!

Hair extensions?!?

Hair extensions are great. I have them and Love it. I would suggest starting with straight hair. That way you can style your own hair and the extensions however you want.

I have naturally curly hair and it is a pain to straighten your own hair in between your extensions.

Good luck.

How long must my hair be for hair extensions?

Not too recently I had my hair cut very short, a short crop like Sarah Hardinges had. I have defenitely gone off my hair now and would like to invest in some good quality hair extensions. However I don't want to waste my money on hair extensions that I can't wear because my hair is too short. Does anyone know how long your hair has to be to put in clip-in hair extensions?

How long must my hair be for hair extensions?

Any length I think! Britney Spears shaved her head, and got hair extensions! (And I'm thinking you didn't shave your head....right?)

How long must my hair be for hair extensions?

As long as you havent shave it, I'm pretty sure you can still weave in some extensions.

This answer was inspired by Britney Spears.

How long must my hair be for hair extensions?

well are you white or black?? yes it matters so i could suggest what would stay in your hair better, and i have no idea who that grl is you said so is it sholder length, above the ear?? be more specific

How long must my hair be for hair extensions?

long enough to grip about a half inch will do

How long must my hair be for hair extensions?

long enough

How long must my hair be for hair extensions?

if you put clip in extensions in you are going to look like you have a mullet and i'm betting you'll be able to see the clips.

You could go to a salon and have greatlengths extensions put in. That is kind of what britney spears has.. since everyone else has said her name in their answer.

don't buy clip ins because it wont look good. Grow your hair out more OR be prepared to spend around 2000 on extensions.

Hair extensions .. !!!!!!!!?

okay so i bought 20 inch clip in extensions on ebay the other day and today i measured my hair and its 22 inches !!? i didnt get them for length but for "fullness" lol but do you think the extensions will be shorter than my hair or longer since they dont start the the top of my head !?

Hair extensions .. !!!!!!!!?

It's better that they're not the same length.

It gives a more layered look.

Hair extensions .. !!!!!!!!?

depends on where you place them. the higher on your head, the shorter they will be. i dont think they'll notice much though.. if you do notice that your hair is choppy with them in.. just take sheers and layer them... they should be okay to use.. but like i said.. if they look short then just layer them so they blend in with your natural hair.

Hair extensions .. !!!!!!!!?

i have had hair extensions in a hairdresser's and the hair dresser told me that the extensions could be cut to every length I wanted after they were applied. So I guess you can either cut them yourself or go to a hair dresser to have them cut!...

Hair extensions .. !!!!!!!!?

when putting hair extensions in, most people separate their hair in half and then clip in the extensions so they will be placed around 11 inches down your head so therefore your hair length with the extensions in will be around 31 inches.

Should i tip when getting hair extensions out?

i spent over $1000 on hair extensions that were NO better than when my hair is naturally long. i mean i always wanted hair extensions but damn! i regret it because it was not worth it. i use to always have long hair past breast n chopped it a lil shorter than shoulder lengeth. i have a good job so i make good money and always wanted extensions so yah went to where my sister gets her hair(not extensions) done. i spend over $400 for the hair alone and the time was about the same price another $400!i tipped i think about $60 which she should be happy with anyways. the hair length was NO LONGER than my old hair and the thickness was no better. i have naturally thin hair. the color was great and i felt cute havin this hair for a few weeks. red faded QUICK but got that done for free from manager but gave $20 tip. then last month had manager untangles the tangles n put a few more it. that was another $150 + $30 tip. now im getting em out and its at the price $50/hour. had em put in aug.

Should i tip when getting hair extensions out?

what's the questions?

clip in hair extensions are way better than the glue/braided ones!

Hair extensions for wedding day? Help ladies?

I just want some information.. Just in case my hair does not get as long as I would like it to and I would also like to add some volume into it, I was thinking about extensions for my wedding day. I have baby fine, very thin, pin straight hair. The length right now is about to the bottom of my shoulder blades.

My question being, what are good hair extensions that will not cause damage to my hair and will look great.. I would like to have my hair down and in elegant curls and waves... All help is much appreciated..

Hair extensions for wedding day? Help ladies?

There are several ways to do extensions. One is glueing them in....I don't recommend it. They can fall out easily and the glue gets really nasty. You can have them braided in, this way is okay but they can be braided too tight and you could be extremely uncomfortable and have headaches. Lastly, you can have them sewn in. This is the better choice. I suggest you go to the salon for a consultation. Find out if they provide the hair or if you need to purchase the hair. Use the best quality hair available. A beauty salon can help you determine the best choice for you. It can be very very expensive depending on how many tracks you need. In my area it could cost up to $1500. If that's too steep for you, check out a school and see if they offer that service. Hairstylist who are students are very good and always have an instructor there helping them. It could save alot of money and you will still have a quality service. Good Luck

Definitely go to a well known hair salon.

Hair extensions for wedding day? Help ladies?

I personally would not do hair extensions just in case you have a mis-hap or it doesn't feel right. You should be as comfortable as possible on your wedding day and you'd probably look beautiful (and natural) without them. I mean do what you please but I go to a great salon called Regis. Kind of pricy but it's the best I've ever gone to and no matter who does my hair it comes out perfect every time.

Hair extensions? Yes or no.?

I cut my hair very very short a couple months ago and it seems like it's taking it FOREVER to grow back! I bought some really pretty hair extensions and I'm really excited to put them in. My question is who out there has tried them [girls with fine hair]. My hair is blonde and very fine. I'm hoping they wont look tacky. They match my hair color perfectly. I'm worried that people will make jokes since my hair will be instantly longer. Do you think hair extensions are tacky?

Hair extensions? Yes or no.?

heyy

i dont think they are tacky,

they are possibly one of the best inventions ever..

they only look tacky

when you are woorking with fake hair,

that kind of looks like barbie, hair

shiney, and plastic looking

but if you got natural hair,

go for it

if you are gluing them in

just a word of warning,

they last a long time and what not,

and when they come lose you can glue the piece back in

but when you decide to take them out

dont use the hair glue remover..

its a gimic,

use palm olive dish soap

or any dish soap that

cuts grease.

because you will find you have littlle balls of rubber glue still in yhour hair,

and dish soap and a fine comb will do you good,

if you are clipping them in

they still work well, my cousin has almost bleach blonde hair - its natural-

and its reeally thin, and she can still blend it in and pull it off :)

so go for it

if people tease you dont listen to them, it would probably be because they are jealous

who doesnt want looong loong hair :)

Hair extensions? Yes or no.?

no, not unless they look really fake

Hair extensions? Yes or no.?

I think you can get extensions because they look cool and won't be tacky UNLESS its super fake.

Hair extensions? Yes or no.?

No I dont think they are tacky at all. Ive had hair extensions a couple of times and my hair is short. Well u dont want ur hair to be to long I know that when u buy hair extensions they r always long so cut them a nice length dont do it to the point were its really noticeable and cut layers into them so they can blend with ur hair better, cause the first time I got mine they just left it one length and u were able to tell big time now that looked tacky lol, that is what u dont want to happen to u. But with layers ur should blend alot better and look nice. Hope I was able to help.

Hair extensions? Yes or no.?
