My glue in hair extensions itched so bad that I had to remove them after 1 week.?

I went with two friends to get glue in hair extensions done by professionals. I loved them--I would have kept them in for months if not for the itching. Itching also happened to my friends, and another person I knew that got them at a different salon, so I know I didn't just have a reaction with the glue or have a bad extension artist. I want glue-ins again, so does anyone have any suggestions about the itching?

I disagree with you assumption that you didn't have a reaction to the glue. You could have the best professional on earth giving you extensions and you still stand the chance of having a bad reaction.

While I liked the extensions I had, the itching (yes from the glue) made them intolerable. I decided to stick with my short hair.

please stop using glue. you can get it sewn in. it's safer, last longer and is better looking.

I glued my friend's extensions in and they didn't itch her, but the glue did ruin her hair, why don't you try to just grow it out?

Actually I wouldn't recommend glue in extensions. They might look good and feel good, but their is a downside to it. It can also damage your hair. I cannot really say why you and your friends had that really bad itch. maybe the glue was no good, I don't know or it may be possible that you have a dandruff problem or dry scalp but that would be more than coincidence that your friends have it too.The person who did your hair or your friends hair might have used a comb that was used on a person with dandruff or dry scalp and didn't clean it properly. Next time try having them sewn in, you can scratch your hair with ease without having to remove them so soon. Whether or not you have them sewn in or glued in it is gonna itch you can ask the hairstylist/hairdresser what you could use for the itch.

Many people do not realize that your scalp is 'skin' and just like the flesh on other parts of your body, it is subject to irritation from anything that comes in contact with it. It is a good thing that you stopped wearing the extensions since it is obvious that you are having a chemical reaction to the glue that is being used. I suggest that you buy one of the over-the-counter scalp medications (Scalpacin) and gently wash your hair with it and rinse it well, and let it dry thoroughly. Also, you might want to apply a mild cream afterward, to prevent dryness, that has a tendency to cause the scalp to itch.

They make a type of clip in extentions too, ask your stylist but I tried the glue in ones and didn't make it but a week before I had to take mine out too!

Glue in extentions damage your hair anyway. Sew in's can as well. I suggest you use what the celebritites use. It is 100% safe, undetectable, looks completely natural, and is extremely versatile.
